Early 19th century Pochet-Deroche Paris porcelain plates in the "Vintage" pattern. Circa 1825. Decorated with grape vine borders on a salmon or apricot ground enhanced by rich gilding. This pattern was ordered for use at the American Legation in London, where Rufus King, of Massachusetts and New York, a Revolutionary War hero, lawyer and a signer of the U.S. Constitution, served two terms as Minister, the highest diplomatic rank at the time. Stamped on base. 8 1/2". Good antique condition, minor loss to gilt rim.
