Sidney Yates Johnson was born in London but spent many of his years in Kent - particularly Canterbury and Sheerness. His views celebrated the best of British scenery across the Isles. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated l.r. "S.Y. Johnson/1927". Label on verso reads: "***erdale, Derby/SY Johnson. Frame: 29.5" x 21.5"; sight 23.5" x 15.5". Good condition, minor craquelure consistent with age.
