Dr. John Stritch (1925-2014) led a remarkable life as a doctor, artist and teacher. John Stritch started his professional career as a flight surgeon in the United States Armed Forces. He retired in 1964 and moved to Hinsdale, MA, where he became a leading steel abstract expressionist. His sculptures are featured at the Three Sisters Sanctuary in Goshen, MA. In the 1990's he was a well known painter, printmaker and poster designer for Berkshires area events including Tanglewood. Signed Strich. Purchased from the John H. Stritch Gallery for $2,500.00 in 1996. 88" x 36" x 31". Good condition with evidence of outdoor use including loss to finish, with an area that is subterranean, and not presently visible.
