Signed and dated on reverse. Acrylic and collage on canvas. Susan Roth is an American abstractionist. Find roiling surfaces in Susan Roth’s Sault Ste. Marie. Inspired and given the namesake of Sault Ste. Marie, both Michigan’s oldest city and among the oldest cities in the United States,  and the much-larger city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The two are connected by the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge. This portion of the river contains the Soo Locks, as well as a swinging railroad bridge, and is situated at the rapids of the St. Mary’s River. The rapids, harnessed for hydroelectric power generation, connect Lake Superior with Lake Huron. Roth is widely reviewed and her work can be found in prestigious collections world wide including the Smithsonian, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and others. Frame: 30 W X 69 H. Good condition.
