Samuel Woodforde, Full Length Study, Pencil on Paper, British, 1763-1817
On reverse, “Full-length study of a gentleman, well turned out, holding a cane. Verso a rapid sketch for “The Bennett Family” group now in the Tate Gallery. This young man does not appear in the great composition but may have some connection with what was Woodforde’s largest composition”. Woodforde started exhibiting pictures in 1784 and contributed 133 pictures to the Royal Academy. Frame: 12.5″ x 17″, sight: 8″ x 12″. Good condition.
